What is the Nodal Axis?
The Nodal Axis is composed of the North Node and the South Node, which lie at exactly opposite positions and move in reverse motion through the zodiac. Although these are hypothetical points and no planet, they are considered equally as important as planets in the birth chart. Together, they exist as an inseparable pair and an interdependent unit: each Node's existence arises from its role as the polar extension to its other half and moves in tandem.
As the point of intersection between the orbits of the Moon and the Sun, their location and movement can be accurately calculated. The North and South Node are sometimes referred to as True Node or Mean Node, the latter of which only differ slightly in the way they are calculated and deviate from the North and South Node’s position by a mere fraction.

The Nodes can be contradictory influences — in reality, we often feel them to be at odds, conspiring to unsettle and fluster us and compelling us to act against our own interest as well as sabotaging our best intentions. More often, it is later in life that we learn to manage and balance their polar tension and integrate the lesson of each node for our optimal self-development.
